CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT

There will be a wealth of children's entertainment throughout Gourock Park this year. The main arena will have a series of fun workshops, puppet show, balloon modelling and walkabout entertainment in the shape of stilt walkers, clowns and jugglers.

In our Fun Zone, a small funfair, lots of fun inflatables for adults and children alike, will make sure that children young and not so young are catered for.

Workshops

Pirate and Under the Sea Funshop

Fish hats, mobiles, mermaids, divers, lobsters, etc Creative funshop with lots of glueing , cutting and colouring. Pirate paraphernalia to plunder the Spanish Main, a craft based funshop that creates a room full of pirates ready to strike out for the "High Seas" by the end of the session.

Traditional Street Games Funshop

Children have the opportunity to learn the history and background of various street games and old fashioned toys and then play the games. Whips & peeries, girds & cleats, diabolos, skipping games, peever beds, etc.

Bubble Funshop

Participants indulge in a frenzy of bubblemaking! Small, large and ginormous bubbles. A come-and try funshop.

The Big Draw

Lots of big chunky paint pens and wallpaper! Draw a picture of Gourock Highland Games for our marquee wall. At the end of the day, we will see the Games through the eyes of the children.

Storytelling

The Village Storytelling Centre

The Glasgow based storytelling centre are bringing their hand made Mongolian Yurt to Gourock Highland Games. This was designed and decorated by Glasgow schoolchildren and will be the base for storytelling throughout the day.
